Command Units

Command Units (CU) are sent to incidents that require extra command and control support; this is typically when multiple pumping appliances are involved or at the specific request of the incident commander. The Command Unit acts as a single point of control for an incident and liaises with all sector commanders. The crew in the Command Unit provide operational support, including Communications, Logistics, Planning, Multi-Agency support and Information Management, such as media briefings. It is not uncommon for Units to be shared across multiple services (fire, police and ambulance)
