Support Units

Specialist Support Units are used to provide fire crews with the specific equipment and resources needed to manage a variety of incidents. The term Support Unit covers a wide range of vehicles, including water bowsers and foam units, hose layers, hazardous materials handling, urban search-and-rescue, high-volume pumps, fire investigation, welfare units, amongst many others.  Because of their varied roles, support units can range from cars, 4x4s and pick-ups to heavyweight water bowsers and Prime Movers capable of deploying  heavy pods and containers.
