Fire Stations
There are over 1900 operational fire stations across the UK, of which the oldest, New Cross in London, has been in service since 1894 (Alston Fire Station in Cumbria is located in the old Grammar School, which was built in 1828). Recent years have seen an increase in shared service stations where multiple services share the same facility. The fire stations below demonstrate the diverse shape, size, style and structure of these buildings.
