Humberside Fire & Rescue Service
Humberside Fire Brigade was created on April 1st 1974, alongside the new County of Humberside. Although the county was abolished in 1995, the brigade kept its name and continues to provide fire cover to the four council areas that replaced it. Before 1974, fire cover for the area was provided by several smaller brigades, including Grimsby Borough Fire Brigade, Lindsey Fire Brigade, Hull County Fire Brigade and East Riding of Yorkshire Fire Brigade.
The service operates 31 fire stations, 9 of which are wholetime, 3 are wholetime and retained, and 19 stations are retained only. In 2024/25, the service responded to over 13,000 incidents.
