Kent Fire & Rescue Service

Kent Fire Brigade was established on 1 April 1948, following the disbanding of the National Fire Service, which had been set up during WWII. The new Brigade took over the services of smaller urban Brigades. In 1965 several fire stations in North Kent (including Biggin Hill, Bexley, and Bromley) were transferred to the London Fire Brigade when Greater London was formed. In 2017 the service introduced a flexible rostering system which replaced the traditional four watch-based structure ( Red, White, Blue, Green).  The Brigade changed its mame to Kent Fire & Rescue Service in 2003.

Today, the service operates 57 fire stations and responds to over 17,000 incidents each year.
