West Midlands Fire Service

The West Midlands Fire Service was established in 1974, when the West Midlands county was formed. Its creation involved the amalgamation of several County Borough Fire Brigades, including Coventry, Dudley, Solihull, Walsall, Warley, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, and the City of Birmingham Fire Brigade, as well as taking over stations from the Warwickshire and Staffordshire County Brigades.

The service operates 38 fire stations, all of which are whole-time crewed. In 2024 the service responded to over 28,000 incidents,
